Research Manager
The candidate will manage the US based research function within the Research Services department. Manages work assignments and projects for the team, ensuring that research meets stated and anticipated needs and for maximizing the firm’s ability to realize collectible revenue from such services. Supervises and coordinates research operations and sets priorities for research activities to provide the best levels of service for the firm. This manager is an integral member of IS Research Services and works closely with the Resource & Access Manager, Legal & Client Information Services Managers (UK based) and Competitive Intelligence Manager. Specific duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following. Must have a Masters of Library Science or a JD, minimum five years of legal research experience, three years of library management experience and extensive knowledge of research methods and legal and business research tools using diverse and changing applications. Must also have demonstrated supervisory skills (hire, train, assign work, motivate, evaluate, coach) as well as the ability to independently assess client needs and to develop responsive solutions.
