A respected law firm located in Fairfax, VA, is seeking a dedicated and driven Defensive Immigration Attorney to join its dynamic legal team. Duties:

• Provide legal representation for clients in removal proceedings, asylum, cancellation of removal, and other forms of defensive immigration relief

• Conduct in-depth legal research and develop comprehensive case strategies

• Draft and review legal filings, motions, briefs, and client correspondence

• Advise clients on legal rights and obligations, ensuring clarity and compassionate communication

• Maintain and manage multiple open case files while meeting deadlines and performance benchmarks

• Collaborate with fellow attorneys and paralegals to optimize case outcomes and efficiency

• Participate in internal firm committees to support firm initiatives

• Keep abreast of changes in immigration law and relevant procedures

Requirements:

• Active license to practice law in any U.S. jurisdiction

• Minimum of 1–2 years of experience handling immigration matters

• Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities in a high-volume environment

• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills

• Capacity to work independently and as part of a collaborative legal team

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

• Bar admission and good standing in at least one U.S. state or territory

Skills:

• Strong legal research and writing abilities

• High attention to detail and accuracy

• Client-focused with a compassionate approach

• Capable of adapting to evolving legal landscapes

• Fluency in Spanish or additional languages (preferred but not required)
