Job Overview
A law firm seeks a litigation attorney in Chicago, IL, to provide litigation services to clients. The ideal candidate will have a passion for litigation, excellent communication skills, and a proven track record in personal injury or criminal law cases.

Duties

• Manage a pipeline of approximately 40-50 cases.
• Draft and respond to motions.
• Research and brief legal issues, write persuasive legal documents, and argue cases in state and federal courts.
• Litigate motions and conduct jury and bench trials.
• Take and defend depositions.
• Attend mediations, hearings, and trials as needed.
• Maintain communication with clients, opposing counsel, and adjusters.
• Negotiate settlements and plea bargains outside of trial.
• Advise clients on legal rights, responsibilities, and strategies.
• Stay updated on relevant laws and regulations.
• Efficiently manage cases from start to finish.

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in civil litigation.
• Personal injury law experience is highly preferred.
• Substantial knowledge of Rules of Civil Procedure and Rules of Evidence.
• Experience in both state and federal court preferred.
• Ability to travel preferred.

Education

• JD required.

Certifications

• Illinois Bar (Required).
