A law firm seeks an experienced trial attorney specializing in employment law to join their team in Buena Park, CA. This role involves representing clients in complex employment disputes, advocating for justice, and shaping legal strategies that impact workplace policies and practices. The attorney will manage all phases of litigation, from initial case assessment through trial and resolution, ensuring vigorous representation and adherence to legal standards.

Duties

• Lead all aspects of employment law litigation, including wrongful termination, discrimination, harassment, wage disputes, and employee rights cases.
• Conduct thorough legal research utilizing tools such as Westlaw and AI to support case strategy and ensure compliance with current laws and regulations.
• Draft comprehensive legal documents including pleadings, motions, discovery requests, settlement agreements, and trial briefs with precision and clarity.
• Develop persuasive courtroom presentations by preparing witnesses, analyzing evidence, and presenting compelling arguments during trials.
• Negotiate settlements effectively to achieve favorable outcomes while maintaining professional integrity.
• Collaborate with clients, witnesses, experts, and internal teams to gather evidence and develop case strategies that align with client objectives.
• Stay informed on evolving employment laws, regulations, and relevant legal precedents impacting workplace practices across jurisdictions.

Requirements

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school with active bar admission in relevant jurisdictions.
• Proven experience in employment law litigation and the ability to manage their own caseload.
• Strong knowledge of legal research platforms including Westlaw; proficiency in conducting comprehensive legal research is essential.
• Excellent writing skills demonstrated through clear drafting of legal documents and persuasive advocacy materials.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple cases efficiently while maintaining attention to detail.
• Familiarity with a broad range of legal areas such as estate planning, environmental law, immigration law, landlord-tenant law, securities law, personal injury law, tribal law & regulations, patent law, and litigation strategies is highly desirable.
• Strong negotiation skills combined with the ability to think critically under pressure during trial proceedings.
• Legal administrative experience including case management systems and document organization is preferred.
