Junior Data Privacy Associate Attorney

A law firm seeks a Junior Data Privacy Associate Attorney for their Washington, DC office. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of privacy and security frameworks, including GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA, NIST, or similar, and possess 1-2 years of relevant experience. The candidate should be licensed to practice law in the jurisdiction or have the ability to waive in.

Duties:

• Advise clients on privacy and cybersecurity issues
• Provide risk advisory and compliance counseling
• Assist in corporate and technology transactions
• Handle regulatory or governmental investigations
• Participate in cyber incident response
• Support privacy litigation efforts

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school
• Admission to the Bar or ability to waive in the jurisdiction
• Strong understanding of privacy and security frameworks
• Familiarity with GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA, NIST, or similar regulations
• 1-2 years of experience in privacy and cybersecurity matters
• Excellent research and analytical skills
• Strong written and oral communication abilities

Certifications:

Any relevant certifications in data privacy or cybersecurity (e.g., CIPP, CISSP) are a plus.
