Job Overview:
A respected law firm is seeking a highly experienced Commercial Litigation Attorney with 5+ years of practice to join its growing litigation team in Park Ridge. The successful candidate will handle complex commercial cases across state and federal courts, including pleadings, motions, discovery, depositions, trials, and appeals. The role provides the opportunity for professional growth and involvement in client-facing work in a collaborative, client-focused environment. A portable book of business is preferred but not required.

Location:

• Park Ridge, IL

Duties:

• Handle complex commercial litigation cases in state and federal courts
• Prepare significant pleadings, motions, and discovery
• Conduct depositions, visit dispute sites, and manage pre-trial matters
• Lead and participate in trial proceedings and appeals
• Investigate, manage, and conduct discovery of large collections of documents and data
• Collaborate with senior attorneys and clients to develop case strategies
• Manage diverse caseloads while ensuring deadlines are met

Requirements:

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in commercial litigation
• Extensive experience in handling complex commercial cases in state and federal courts
• Proven experience in document and data discovery management
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Ability to prioritize and manage a diverse workload
• Portable book of business preferred
• Licensed to practice law in Illinois and in good standing

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

• Must be licensed to practice law in Illinois and maintain good standing

Skills:

• Strong litigation and legal research skills
• Ability to draft pleadings, motions, and legal documents
• Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
• Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail
• Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines
• Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills
