Job Overview

A law firm seeks a commercial litigation attorney with one year of experience to join their team in Lombard, IL. The successful candidate will support senior litigators in all phases of commercial dispute resolution, assist with client communications, and contribute to the development of case strategy in a collegial, fast-paced environment.

Duties

• Assist with drafting and filing pleadings, motions, briefs, and discovery requests
• Conduct legal research and prepare memoranda on substantive and procedural issues
• Organize and review case files, documents, and evidence
• Manage e-discovery tasks, including document collection and privilege review
• Help prepare for depositions, hearings, mediations, and trials
• Coordinate with clients, co-counsel, experts, and vendors under supervision
• Track deadlines and maintain case calendars using the firm's matter-management system

Requirements

• Active admission to the Illinois Bar
• One year of commercial litigation experience (law firm or clerkship)
• Familiarity with Illinois Rules of Civil Procedure and federal court practice
• Proven ability to juggle multiple tasks and meet strict deadlines
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality work product

Education

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school

Certifications

• Illinois Bar admission
