Duties

• Review title abstracts and supporting documentation.
• Prepare and certify title opinions.
• Sign title certifications for residential transactions.
• Analyze and resolve complex title issues.
• Communicate with title insurance underwriters to determine solutions.
• Provide guidance to closers and attorneys on title matters.
• Resolve title defects including liens and boundary issues.
• Ensure consistency and accuracy in title decisions.
• Assist in developing internal processes for title review.

Requirements

• Active North Carolina Bar license.
• 3-5+ years of experience in real estate title review or residential transactions.
• Strong understanding of North Carolina title standards and insurance requirements.
• Ability to independently analyze and resolve title defects.
• Excellent written and analytical skills.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational ability.
• Experience reviewing title abstracts and issuing title opinions.
• Experience working with title insurance underwriters.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree.

Certifications

• Active North Carolina Bar license.
