Counsel/Senior Counsel
The candidate will identify and analyze legal risks and opportunities, and present clear, well-reasoned recommendations to clients reflecting an understanding of the company’s businesses. Serve as a subject-matter expert in labor and employment and counsel HR, labor relations management, and executive leadership to ensure compliance with collective bargaining agreements and applicable law. Spearhead the development, drafting, and implementation of internal employment policies and practices to advance business objectives while complying with legal requirements. Represent the company, with the assistance of outside counsel as necessary, in administrative procedures and legal actions, including mediations, arbitrations, labor audits and complaints, EEOC and other fair employment practices agency charges, and lawsuits. Effectively manage the work of outside counsel in areas of specialization including responsibility for the budget on projects and matters in areas of responsibility. Supervise or assist in the supervision and conduct of internal investigations. Develop training and other resources to foster legal compliance and best practices. Adhere to the company's corporate vision, values, and high ethical requirements and standards of conduct. Cultivate and support an inclusive and equitable workplace culture. Perform special projects and other duties as assigned.
