Litigation Associate Attorney

A law firm in Providence is seeking a Litigation Associate Attorney with 2-4 years of experience for its general liability practice. The ideal candidate should have relevant experience, be admitted to practice in Rhode Island (additional admission in Massachusetts is a plus), and have a preference for insurance defense in practice areas such as premise liability, products liability, professional liability, construction, dram shop litigation, and/or employment.

Job Details:

• Handle general liability cases in areas such as premise liability, product liability, professional liability, construction, dram shop litigation, and employment.
• Utilize 2-4 years of relevant experience to contribute to effective case management.
• Admittance to the Rhode Island Bar, with additional admission in Massachusetts, is considered a plus.
• Preference for experience in insurance defense in specified practice areas.
• Collaborate with senior attorneys on complex cases and legal strategies.
• Conduct legal research and analysis on intricate litigation issues.
• Draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and discovery requests.
• Attend court hearings, depositions, and conferences related to general liability cases.
• Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and other stakeholders.
• Stay informed about changes in laws and regulations related to general liability practice.

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
• Admittance to the Rhode Island Bar; additional admission in Massachusetts is a plus.
• 2-4 years of litigation experience, preferably in insurance defense.
