Job Overview: A law firm in Rockford, IL, is seeking a Municipal Law Attorney to independently manage a caseload and provide legal representation to clients in municipal law matters. The ideal candidate will be responsible for handling all aspects of legal cases, from discovery and trial preparation to court appearances and negotiations.

Duties:

• Independently manage a caseload, handling all aspects of legal cases.
• Draft pleadings, motions, interrogatories, and other legal documents.
• Work collaboratively with other attorneys, team members, and Partners on legal projects.
• Regularly appear in court and conduct depositions.
• Communicate with clients, providing regular status reports on their cases.
• Represent clients in court proceedings and before government agencies.
• Prepare and draft legal documents on behalf of clients.
• Negotiate settlements for legal disputes on behalf of clients.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant legal standards and regulations.

Requirements:

• Licensed attorney with 0-5 years of experience.
• Strong knowledge and experience in municipal law.
• Excellent research and analytical skills.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a legal team.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Detail-oriented with a commitment to providing high-quality legal services.
• Adherence to ethical and professional standards in the legal field.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:
