Profile

A law firm in Phoenix is seeking a General Litigation Medical Malpractice Defense Associate Attorney with 1 year of experience. The candidate must have passed the Arizona State Bar and possess excellent academic, written and verbal communication, research, and negotiation skills. Experience in general litigation or with insurance defense and health care malpractice issues is a plus.

 

Duties:

  • Defend healthcare providers and institutions in medical malpractice cases.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis.
  • Draft pleadings, motions, and other legal documents.
  • Prepare for and attend hearings, depositions, and mediations.
  • Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel.
  • Assist in trial preparation and participate in trials as needed.
  • Provide advice and counsel to clients on legal matters.
  • Manage case files and documentation.
  • Collaborate with partners and other attorneys on case strategy and resolution.

 

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the Arizona State Bar.
  • 1 year of legal experience.
  • Excellent academic credentials.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong research and negotiation skills.
  • Experience in general litigation or with insurance defense and health care malpractice issues is a plus.

 

Education:

Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

 

Certifications:

Admission to the Arizona State Bar.

 

Skills:

  • Strong research and analytical skills.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
