Job Overview:
A distinguished law firm based in Miami, FL, is seeking a mid-level associate with 4 to 7 years of experience to support its insurance and reinsurance litigation practice. This role involves sophisticated commercial litigation with a focus on coverage matters involving a range of complex policies. The position offers the opportunity to handle high-exposure disputes and develop professionally within a collaborative legal team known for handling challenging claims on behalf of insurers.

Duties:

• Handle insurance coverage litigation related to professional liability, general liability, and D&O insurance policies

• Draft pleadings, discovery documents, and dispositive motions

• Manage written discovery and participate in discovery-related motion practice

• Take and defend depositions, attend court hearings, and assist in trial preparation

• Conduct legal research and produce high-quality written work

• Collaborate with legal teams on case strategy and execution

• Participate in business development and client relations efforts

• Independently manage caseloads as appropriate to experience level

Requirements:

• 4 to 7 years of relevant experience in insurance coverage and commercial litigation

• Demonstrated ability to handle complex legal issues with minimal supervision

• Strong case management and courtroom skills, including appearances and depositions

• Experience supporting insurers in high-value or sophisticated coverage matters is preferred

• Proven ability to interface with clients and contribute to business development

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited U.S. law school

Certifications:

• Active member in good standing with the Bar in at least one U.S. jurisdiction

• Florida Bar membership preferred or willingness to become admitted
