Job Title: Trial Attorney - Premises Liability
Job Overview:
A Lexington-based law firm is seeking an accomplished litigation attorney with extensive jury trial experience to join its premises liability team. The role involves managing a significant litigation docket from intake through resolution, working in a collaborative legal environment with access to modern resources and strong support infrastructure. Duties:
Manage a high-volume litigation caseload (approx. 150 total matters; ~50 active in litigation)
Serve as lead attorney on jury trials, including first-chair responsibilities
Conduct all phases of litigation, including discovery, depositions, motion practice, mediation, and trial
Formulate and implement comprehensive case strategies tailored to client goals
Maintain consistent and transparent client communications throughout the case life cycle
Collaborate with internal legal support teams, including paralegals and case managers
Leverage internal tech tools and support systems to streamline litigation efforts
Requirements:
Minimum 3 years of experience in civil litigation or personal injury; 5-8 years strongly preferred
Active member in good standing with the Kentucky State Bar
At least 5 completed jury trials as first-chair counsel (10+ preferred)
Strong command of civil procedure and evidence rules
Ability to independently manage trial preparation and execution
Willingness to work in a high-paced, results-oriented litigation environment
Education:
Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school
Certifications:
Active bar licensure in Kentucky is required
Additional State Bar admissions considered an advantage
Skills:
