A prominent national law firm is seeking an experienced AI Innovation Counsel to lead the strategic integration of artificial intelligence (AI) and related technologies into legal practice. This role plays a critical part in enhancing legal service delivery by leveraging generative AI, machine learning, and legal tech platforms across firmwide operations. The role will collaborate closely with practice groups, attorneys, and innovation leaders to implement practical, transformative solutions.

Lead firmwide initiatives to adopt and utilize AI in legal workflows and service delivery
Collaborate with innovation teams and practice support attorneys to identify high-value use cases
Provide direct support and training to attorneys on applying generative AI in practice
Deliver workshops, design-thinking sessions, and other learning experiences for legal professionals
Develop and maintain prompt libraries, practice-specific guides, and implementation playbooks
Facilitate internal ideation sessions to discover AI use cases across teams and matter stages
Guide the firm’s AI & Tech Ambassadors program, including role development, mentoring, and collaboration
Maintain expertise in firm-supported AI tools, tracking enhancements and feature updates
Monitor internal usage data and industry trends to evaluate performance and identify innovation opportunities
Coordinate pilot programs and lead rollout and adoption of legal tech platforms
Advise clients on AI capabilities and innovations in legal service models
Create internal knowledge portals and marketing case studies to support business development
Minimum 8 years of legal practice experience at a large law firm
Significant expertise in generative AI, large language models, and machine learning within legal contexts
Track record of implementing and driving adoption of legal technology
Strong verbal and written communication skills for both technical and legal audiences
Ability to independently manage multiple projects and prioritize effectively
Proven success collaborating across teams and engaging with diverse stakeholders
Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret performance data and trends
Flexibility to travel periodically for in-person collaboration and client engagements
Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited U.S. law school
Admitted and in good standing to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction
Legal tech or AI-related certifications preferred but not required
Continuing legal education or specialization in technology and innovation advantageous
In-depth knowledge of generative AI tools and their applications in legal workflows
Strong project management and change leadership skills
Expertise in delivering legal tech training and facilitating ideation sessions
Ability to translate legal needs into practical technology solutions
Familiarity with knowledge management, automation platforms, and legal process design
Comfort evaluating vendors and technology capabilities
Excellent interpersonal, diplomacy, and client service skills
