Job Overview: A law firm in Hamilton, NJ, is seeking a Litigation Associate Attorney to join their collaborative team. The successful candidate will be responsible for researching and drafting legal memoranda, representing clients in various legal proceedings, and maintaining effective communication with clients and legal professionals.

Duties:

  • Works collaboratively with attorneys, paralegals, and administrative staff in a litigation practice.
  • Researches and drafts memoranda and briefs for a variety of legal issues.
  • Performs analysis and makes or suggests opinions that impact clients.
  • Regularly interacts with clients via personal meetings, teleconference, phone, and written/electronic correspondence.
  • Drafts correspondence in response to questions and/or requests for information.
  • Represents clients in legal proceedings, including court appearances, administrative hearings, depositions, and meetings.
  • Propounds, reviews, and litigates issues arising from Discovery in complex cases.
  • Prepares and enters daily time entries.
  • Performs other duties as needed.

Requirements:

  • Law Degree from an accredited law school with admission to the New Jersey Bar.
  • 1-3 years of experience as a practicing attorney, specifically in research, motion practice, and hearing/trial preparation.
  • Candidates who have completed a judicial clerkship in the Civil Division or Appellate Division are strongly preferred.

Education:

  • Law Degree from an accredited law school with admission to the New Jersey Bar.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the New Jersey Bar.

Skills:

  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in oral and written form with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently efficiently and to establish work priorities.
  • Strong research, writing, prioritization, time management, and organizational skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work professionally with court officials, judges, attorneys, and the general public and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Ability to work within established systems and processes involving extensive collaboration with other attorneys, paralegals, and office staff.
  • Ability to consistently generate new clients through individual and firm-wide networking and marketing efforts.
  • Comfortable meeting with clients and public speaking.
  • Self-motivated and entrepreneurial.
  • Commitment to maintaining a high level of proficiency in the most current and advanced legal techniques.
