A law firm seeks an Associate Attorney in Naperville, IL. This role offers substantial courtroom experience, involving regular court appearances and management of a contested litigation queue. The position provides an opportunity to gain comprehensive knowledge of court procedures and the litigation process without billable hour requirements.

Duties

• Appear in court for the firm at least three days per week.
• Review new claims to ensure compliance.
• Review and sign off on pleadings for court filings.
• Draft various motions and responses to contested matters.
• Argue contested motions and conduct trials and arbitrations.
• Manage telephonic and written contact with opposing counsel.
• Prepare and respond to discovery or oversee counterclaims.

Requirements

• Juris Doctorate and admittance to Illinois Bar.
• Additional licenses in other states are valuable.

Education

• Juris Doctorate

Certifications

• Admittance to Illinois Bar

Skills

• Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
• Experience with Collection Master or similar case management systems preferred.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work well with diverse groups and court officials.
• Independent decision-making and detail-oriented.
