A law firm seeks an experienced attorney to join its team in Towson, MD. The successful candidate will manage both criminal defense and family law cases across Maryland, handling serious misdemeanor and felony cases, as well as divorce, custody, and child support matters.

Duties

• Represent clients in criminal defense and family law matters throughout Maryland.
• Handle criminal cases from consultation through trial and post-trial proceedings.
• Manage family law cases, including divorce and custody hearings.
• Conduct legal research and develop litigation strategies.
• Advise clients on legal options and potential outcomes.
• Prepare legal documents and filings.
• Appear in court for various proceedings.
• Negotiate with opposing parties to advance client interests.
• Maintain organized records and meet deadlines.
• Stay informed on Maryland criminal and family law developments.

Requirements

• Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.
• Active membership in good standing with the Maryland Bar.
• Substantial courtroom and litigation experience.
• Experience with at least ten jury trials preferred.
• Criminal defense or comparable trial experience required.
• Family law experience strongly preferred.
• Excellent communication and analytical skills.
• Ability to manage a substantial caseload and deadlines.
• Professional, organized, and responsive demeanor.
• Willingness to travel to courthouses throughout Maryland.

Education

• Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Active membership in good standing with the Maryland Bar.
