Job Overview

A law firm seeks a Senior Associate/Counsel for its Florham Park, NJ office. The role involves managing a caseload under Principal supervision, representing clients in litigation, alternate dispute resolution, and drafting and negotiating agreements. The position covers sophisticated family law matters and general commercial litigation.

Duties

• Conduct discovery, hearings, trials, depositions, oral arguments, mediations, and arbitrations.
• Collaborate with Principals to develop and revise legal strategies.
• Negotiate and draft premarital, marital, and commercial settlement agreements.
• Advise clients on legal opinions, rights, and obligations.
• Stay updated on legal changes and understand various disciplines involved in cases.
• Perform administrative functions related to legal practice.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years' experience as a litigation attorney.
• Knowledge of business and family law, and client operations.
• Member in good standing of the state bar(s).
• Strong analytical skills for complex legal issues.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.
• Proficient in legal research.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work independently.

Education

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
• Juris Doctor from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Admission to the NJ Bar; co-admission to the NY Bar is required.
