A law firm seeks a licensed Attorney to join its team in Allen, TX, and provide high-quality legal counsel and representation. In this role, you will collaborate with colleagues in a collegial, community-focused setting while handling a diverse range of matters.
Duties
Oversee client matters from intake through resolution, including initial consultations and case strategy development
Draft and file pleadings, motions, and other court documents as needed
Conduct fact and legal research, preparing memoranda and briefs for internal and external use
Represent clients at hearings, mediations, and court proceedings when required
Manage discovery processes: prepare and respond to written discovery, coordinate document productions, and participate in depositions
Communicate regularly with clients regarding case status, options, and potential outcomes
Collaborate with internal team members to share insights, develop strategies, and ensure consistent client service
Maintain accurate case files, billing records, and related documentation per firm policies
Requirements
Juris Doctor degree from an ABA-accredited law school
Active admission to the State bar (or ability to waive in)
Minimum of 3 years’ experience practicing civil litigation (or comparable experience in transactional matters, if specified)
Strong analytical aptitude and the ability to identify and articulate key legal issues
Excellent written and oral advocacy skills, including drafting persuasive legal documents
Proven capacity to manage a busy caseload, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines
Demonstrated professionalism, confidentiality, and ethical judgment in client interactions
Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Outlook, and basic case-management software (e.g., Clio, MyCase)
Education
Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an American Bar Association–accredited law school
Undergraduate degree in any discipline from a regionally accredited institution
Certifications
Licensed to practice in [State] (and eligible for reciprocal admission if applicable)
Optional: Certification in [relevant specialty, e.g., Civil Litigation or Real Estate Law] is a plus, but not required
