Criminal Defense Practice Legal Intern, Spring 2023

The intern will work with the Criminal Appeals Bureau's Domestic Violence Survivors Justice Act. Working with supervisors, staff attorneys, mitigation specialists, and paralegals, the intern will support DVSJA's work to investigate, file, and litigate resentencing motions. Work directly with supervising attorneys. Duties may include: drafting motions, conducting legal research, assisting with investigations, assisting with client interviews, reviewing and organizing discovery, and other duties as assigned. Current 2Ls and 3Ls in good standing will be considered. Relevant clinical program or work experience is preferred. Demonstrated commitment or interest to indigent defense is needed. Should have a demonstrated commitment and interest in serving racially and socioeconomically oppressed communities.
