A law firm seeks a Senior Counsel to join its Los Angeles office. The ideal candidate is a skilled litigator and proficient writer, capable of independently managing a caseload and actively participating in trial processes.

Duties

• Manage a caseload of 10-20 matters.
• Investigate claims and develop case strategies.
• Draft and respond to discovery requests.
• Review and analyze documents for production.
• Conduct legal research using Westlaw.
• Take and defend depositions.
• Draft and submit pleadings and motions.
• Attend hearings and argue motions.
• Draft pre-trial and trial documents.
• Prepare cases for mediation/trial and participate in these processes.
• Report effectively to clients.
• Manage and supervise associates and paralegals.

Requirements

• Admission to the bar in California.
• Extensive experience in all aspects of litigation.
• Exceptional legal writing and communication skills.
• Effective oral advocacy skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects.
• Ability to identify and resolve problems quickly.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree.

Certifications

• California Bar Admission.

Skills

• Proficient in legal research tools such as Westlaw.
