Job Overview

A law firm seeks a mid to senior level Associate Attorney for its insurance coverage practice in Chicago, IL. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of three years' experience in insurance coverage litigation, with a preference for first-party coverage experience.

Duties

• Manage a thriving insurance coverage practice with cases throughout the Midwest.
• Defend and prosecute coverage matters from inception through trial.
• Draft substantive legal motions in state and federal court.
• Conduct 30(b)(6) depositions and examinations under oath.
• Provide oversight and advice on property insurance appraisals.

Requirements

• Licensure in Illinois and the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.
• Minimum of four years of law licensure and three years of insurance coverage experience.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to provide writing samples, including deposition transcripts and motions.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Bar admission in Illinois.

Skills

• Strong research and analytical skills.
• Competence in legal writing and drafting motions.
• Familiarity with federal and state discovery procedures.
