Job Title: Financial Services Disputes and Investigations Associate Attorney
Job Overview:
A prominent law firm in Seattle, WA is seeking an experienced associate to join its litigation and investigations team, with a concentration in complex financial disputes and regulatory investigations. This position provides the opportunity to be actively involved in high-impact litigation matters, including white-collar criminal cases, internal corporate probes, regulatory enforcement actions, and matters under the False Claims Act. The selected candidate will play a hands-on role in all stages of litigation, including motions, discovery, depositions, and trial preparation for sophisticated financial and regulatory matters on behalf of global institutions.
Duties:
Participate in all stages of litigation, including initial case assessment, strategy development, and court proceedings
Handle discovery processes including document review, depositions, and witness preparation
Draft legal pleadings, motions, and briefs for complex financial and regulatory matters
Conduct internal corporate investigations and respond to civil and criminal regulatory inquiries
Engage with clients to provide strategic legal guidance and risk assessment
Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary trial teams on large-scale, high-stakes matters
Appear in court for hearings and assist with trial proceedings as needed
Requirements:
3-5 years of litigation experience, preferably at an international or large domestic law firm
Prior involvement in financial services litigation, government investigations, or white-collar criminal defense
Experience managing complex civil litigation and enforcement matters from inception through trial or settlement
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities with strong attention to detail
Excellent client service skills and ability to thrive in a collaborative team environment
Education:
Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school
Certifications:
Active membership in good standing with a State Bar
Admission to practice in Washington (or ability to become admitted promptly)
Skills:
Advanced legal research and writing capabilities
Strong oral advocacy and analytical reasoning skills
Familiarity with federal and state court procedures and filings
Effective communication and interpersonal skills for client and team interaction
Proactive approach to workload management and case strategy
