Job Title: Mid-Level Intellectual Property Litigation Associate Attorney

Job Overview:
A respected law firm located in New York City is seeking a mid-level associate to support its intellectual property litigation team, specifically focusing on pharmaceutical and life sciences patent disputes. This opportunity is ideal for a litigation attorney with prior exposure to Hatch-Waxman or other life sciences-related matters who is looking to grow in a collaborative environment and take on increasing responsibility alongside experienced practitioners.

Duties:

• Handle matters involving patent infringement litigation, particularly in the pharmaceutical and life sciences sectors

• Assist with all phases of pretrial litigation, including pleadings, motions, and discovery

• Conduct in-depth legal research and draft substantive memoranda, motions, and briefs

• Support the preparation and strategy for depositions, expert discovery, and evidentiary hearings

• Collaborate with senior attorneys and technical experts to build scientifically and legally sound cases

• Participate in client meetings, fact development, and case strategy sessions

• Engage in fact and expert witness preparation and support trial teams as needed

Requirements:

• 2-4 years of litigation experience, particularly in patent litigation matters

• Demonstrated interest and/or experience in life sciences, pharmaceutical patents, or Hatch-Waxman litigation

• Admitted to practice and in good standing with the New York State Bar

• Prior exposure to depositions, hearings, and motion practice preferred

• Ability to manage complex legal and scientific information with attention to detail

• Strong organizational skills and a proactive, team-oriented mindset

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited U.S. law school

Certifications:

• Admission to the New York State Bar

• Eligibility to sit for the Patent Bar is a plus

• An undergraduate or advanced degree in life sciences is advantageous
