Job Overview

A law firm seeks an attorney to join its Aerospace and Defense practice in Washington, DC. The ideal candidate will have experience in government and commercial contracts, compliance with export controls, and a strong interest in business development.

Duties

• Advise clients on government and commercial contract issues, including FAR and DFAR.
• Draft legal memoranda, bid protests, REAs, and claims.
• Provide guidance on ITAR, EAR, and FMS compliance.
• Conduct legal research on government contracts and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in federal government contracts.
• Experience with U.S. export controls, including OFAC sanctions.
• Admitted to the State Bar of Michigan, D.C. Bar, or eligible for admission in Maryland or Virginia.
• Portable book of business is a plus.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree.

Certifications

• Bar admission in relevant jurisdiction.

Skills

• Strong organizational and project management skills.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.

• Ability to work independently and manage client relationships.
