Intellectual Property Paralegal - Litigation
The candidate will prepare discovery requests and responses, subpoenas, deposition notices, cover motions, declarations, proposed orders, exhibit appendices and correspondence. Assist with document collection processes and oversee document production. Consult with firm’s eDiscovery management team to manage document databases and coordinate electronic discovery processes. E-file documents in various Federal and State courts, including but not limited to Patent and Trademark Appeal Board, International Trade Commission, and U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. Perform legal cite-checking of motions and briefs utilizing the Blue Book and other key cite-checking authorities. Assemble basic drafts of patent disclosures, including but not limited to Proposed Claim Terms & Constructions, Infringement Contentions, Invalidity Contentions, and Claim Construction briefs. Assist with drafting and filing of Inter Partes Review (IPR) and related documents, including but not limited to: Assignments, Powers of Attorney, and Declarations. Draft Response shells, Preliminary Amendments, Missing Parts Response, Petitions, Request for Extensions of Time, Information Disclosure Statements, Notice of Appeal, Issue fees, Requests for corrected documents. Manage a full docket of patent-related deadlines, send timely reminders to clients and attorneys, and ensure that deadlines are handled. Assist attorney team with organization and maintenance of case documents, and routine monitoring of case dockets and patent activity. Assist with depositions, hearing, and trial preparation: assist with pretrial preparation (deposition designations, exhibit and witness lists, organization and management of exhibits, files, trial subpoenas, and other supporting documents). Conduct various document searches and factual research. Other projects as assigned.
