Job Overview:
A prominent law firm is seeking a full-time attorney with focused experience in Artificial Intelligence (AI) law, data privacy (including GDPR compliance), and/or intellectual property (IP). This position offers a unique opportunity to advise global clients on cutting-edge legal and regulatory matters relating to AI technologies. The ideal candidate will support compliance, risk management, product development, and internal policy design while contributing thought leadership to an evolving legal landscape.

Duties:
Advise clients on AI-related regulations and standards, including:
EU AI Act
U.S. federal and state AI laws
Automated decision-making legislation
Draft, review, and negotiate AI-related commercial agreements and technology contracts
Guide clients in creating ethical AI use frameworks and internal governance policies
Monitor legal and regulatory developments surrounding AI across jurisdictions
Collaborate with attorneys in related areas such as data privacy and IP
Generate thought leadership including:
Articles
Webinars
Client alerts
Supervise and mentor junior attorneys and legal staff on related projects
Requirements:
Minimum 5 years of relevant legal experience, including law firm or in-house counsel work
Deep understanding of current and emerging AI regulatory environments
Experience managing multiple, complex projects simultaneously
Ability to lead teams and provide mentorship to junior legal professionals
Strong client advisory skills with a solution-focused mindset
Education:
Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school
Certifications:
Admission to the Utah State Bar or eligibility and willingness to obtain Utah licensure
Skills:
High-level proficiency in legal research, writing, and strategic thinking
Familiarity with AI technologies and related legal risks
Strong communication and presentation skills
Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and time management capabilities
Background in computer science, engineering, or related technical fields (preferred)
Familiarity with global data privacy standards (e.g., GDPR, CCPA) and their impact on AI systems
