Job Overview:
A reputable law firm is seeking a Private Client Trusts & Estates Associate to join its nationally recognized practice in the Boston office. This role will involve working on high-net-worth trust and estate planning, administration, and tax-related matters. Ideal candidates will have 2-4 years of experience in trusts and estates and be familiar with relevant state and federal tax laws. This position provides an excellent opportunity to be part of a collaborative team and work on complex and impactful client matters.

Location:

  • Boston, MA

Duties:

  • Assist with high-net-worth trust and estate planning and administration.
  • Provide guidance on state and federal tax laws related to trusts and estates.
  • Handle succession planning, lifetime giving, estate and income taxation issues, and charitable giving.
  • Develop tax-efficient family wealth transfer strategies.
  • Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams within the firm, including corporate, real estate, and trial lawyers.
  • Advise clients on estate planning for retirement assets.

Requirements:

  • 2-4 years of demonstrated experience in trust and estate planning and administration.
  • Strong technical, professional, and client service skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and advocacy skills.
  • Team-oriented with an emphasis on collaboration.
  • Must be admitted to the Massachusetts Bar in good standing.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Massachusetts Bar Admission (in good standing) is required.

Skills:

  • In-depth knowledge of trust and estate planning and administration.
  • Expertise in state and federal tax laws relevant to trusts and estates.
  • Strong client service orientation with the ability to build and maintain relationships.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues across various practices.
