Litigation Associate

Profile

A law firm seeks a Litigation Associate to join its team in Augusta, GA. This role is ideal for an attorney with a passion for civil defense litigation, offering the chance to manage all stages of litigation while working in a collaborative environment.

Duties

• Manage civil defense cases, including conducting depositions, hearings, and trials.
• Oversee all phases of discovery, including drafting, responding to, and reviewing discovery requests.
• Conduct legal research and draft motions, briefs, and pleadings.
• Collaborate with clients, opposing counsel, and team members to strategize case management and resolutions.
• Attend court hearings, mediations, and settlement conferences.
• Develop litigation strategies to meet client objectives while maintaining compliance with legal standards.

Requirements

• Minimum of 1 year of experience in civil defense litigation (preferred).
• Proven ability to handle all litigation phases independently with minimal supervision.
• Experience with depositions, hearings, and other courtroom procedures.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Active member of the Georgia Bar.
• Willingness to obtain South Carolina Bar admission.

Skills

• Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Familiarity with legal research tools and litigation support software.
