Patent Agent needed for New York City office

A law firm in New York City is seeking a Patent Agent with a background in aerospace engineering and engine technology. The ideal candidate should be a registered patent agent with examining experience at the U.S. PTO or patent drafting experience in a law firm setting. The candidate should hold undergraduate and/or graduate degrees in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, electrical engineering, or computer science. Strong preference will be given to candidates with previous experience as a patent examiner, and industry experience is considered a plus. The successful candidate must have excellent academic credentials, strong writing skills, and sharp analytical ability.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Conduct patent drafting and prosecution activities related to aerospace engineering and engine technology.
• Collaborate with inventors and attorneys to prepare and file patent applications.
• Conduct patentability and freedom-to-operate analyses.
• Provide technical and legal advice on patent matters.
• Stay updated on changes in patent laws and regulations.
• Assist in the development and execution of patent strategies.
• Work closely with clients and other stakeholders.

Requirements:

• Background in aerospace engineering and engine technology.
• Registered patent agent with examining experience at the U.S. PTO or patent drafting experience in a law firm setting.
