Job Overview:
A prestigious law firm located in Alexandria, VA is seeking a highly skilled Associate Attorney to join a personal injury law firm. This is an excellent opportunity to work with a collaborative team that handles complex personal injury and insurance claims across state and federal courts. The position involves various responsibilities including case management, litigation, and client interactions, while working in a professional and nurturing environment.

Duties:

• Manage a caseload from intake to resolution, ensuring all steps of the legal process are executed efficiently.
• Handle case investigations, including gathering and reviewing medical records and other evidence.
• Draft pleadings, discovery documents, motions, and settlement agreements.
• Conduct legal research and prepare legal briefs.
• Represent clients in pre-trial and trial proceedings in court.
• Engage in settlement negotiations with opposing counsel and insurance adjusters.
• Assist in the preparation of depositions and discovery motions.
• Collaborate with colleagues and clients to ensure case objectives are met.
• Attend meetings and hearings as needed, including occasional weekend and evening work.

Requirements:

• Virginia Bar admission is required. Admission to the Maryland or D.C. Bar is a plus.
• Strong knowledge of civil procedure and litigation practices.
• Excellent research, writing, and analytical skills.
• Demonstrated ability to manage a caseload and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
• Proficient in legal drafting, including pleadings and discovery documents.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build rapport with clients.
• Must possess a client-centered approach and the ability to work in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Active membership in the Virginia Bar.
• Additional Bar certifications (MD and/or DC) are advantageous.
