General Liability Associate Attorney

A law firm in Vancouver, WA is seeking a General Liability Associate Attorney to defend businesses or individuals in civil lawsuits involving property damage or bodily injuries. The role includes legal analysis, extensive research, drafting of legal documents, and representing clients at various legal proceedings.

Job Duties:

• Defend businesses or individuals in civil lawsuits where plaintiffs allege property damage or bodily injuries.
• Conduct legal analysis of claims and causes of action.
• Perform extensive legal research and draft status reports, analyses, substantial briefs, memos, pleadings, and appellate briefs for clients.
• Maintain an annual billable target of 1950 hours, including regular representation of clients at hearings, arbitrations, mediations, and depositions.
• Draft and respond to discovery requests, manage expert witnesses, and collaborate on case strategy.
• Prepare thoroughly for trials and attend as necessary.
• Some travel may be required for hearings and client meetings.
• Maintain a high level of responsiveness to email and phone inquiries from clients and colleagues.
• Utilize exceptional writing, research, and litigation skills in all aspects of case management.
• Experience with property damage, bodily injury, or trucking cases is advantageous.

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an ABA-approved law school.
• Admitted to practice law in the states of Washington and/or Oregon; admission in other states such as Idaho or Utah is a plus.
• Minimum 3+ years of experience in civil litigation, preferably with exposure to general liability cases.
• Superior analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong research abilities and excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to self-manage, work efficiently under pressure, and collaborate effectively in a team environment.
• Excellent client service skills and a professional telephone manner.
