Job Overview

A law firm seeks a full-time Associate Attorney to join its practice in New Jersey. This remote position offers the opportunity to work on a diverse caseload related to consumer protection, including transactional and civil litigation matters. The role involves communication with the main office in New York City via telephone and electronic means.

Duties

• Maintain and supervise a heavy and diversified caseload in New Jersey.
• Communicate with clients regarding their respective matters.
• Draft pleadings, motions, legal memoranda, and review and draft agreements.
• Communicate with opposing parties to resolve or settle claims.
• Conduct legal research on simple and complex issues in contract law and consumer law.
• Travel for court appearances as required.

Requirements

• Admitted to practice law in New Jersey (multiple-state admission is a plus).
• Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience at a law firm.
• Superior organizational and time-management skills to meet strict deadlines.
• Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
• Highest ethical standards and professional integrity.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with senior management and employees at all levels.
• Proficiency in legal research; LexisNexis experience is a plus.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree.

Certifications

• Licensed to practice law in New Jersey.
