Legal Counsel
The candidate will provide ongoing representation in juvenile cases and legal support and advice for case managers with the emphasis on achieving safe and swift permanency for kids in care. Provide support and legal advice to the Children's division. Maintain a caseload in Juvenile Court, and occasionally in Circuit Court and Probate Court. Perform case analysis, issue spotting, time/calendar management, and caseload organization. Work with other DSS team members, such as investigators and social workers. Must have a Juris Doctorate from an accredited institution and current member of the Missouri Bar. Excellent research and writing skills are required. Experience in litigation and a background in juvenile, probate, and family law is preferred.
