Represent clients in contested family law cases, including trials, mediations, and hearings
Manage all aspects of litigation including pleadings, discovery, depositions, and motion practice
Conduct strategy meetings and assign tasks to legal staff with clear timelines
Lead and participate in formal mediations
Engage in legal research and writing, including appellate-level briefs
Develop case strategies grounded in current case law and procedural rules
Deliver confident courtroom representation and client advocacy
Utilize legal technologies and cloud-based case management systems
Contribute to a collaborative and fast-paced team environment
Minimum experience as lead counsel in:
10 contested family law trials
5 party depositions (family law context)
3 formal mediations lasting at least half a day
3 major legal research and writing projects, including appellate work
Familiarity with managing complex case workflows and production targets
Availability for occasional work outside standard hours (evenings/weekends)
Demonstrated ability to work effectively under pressure and strict deadlines
Proficiency with technology including legal research databases and document management systems
Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
Active license to practice law in Alabama
In good standing with the Alabama State Bar
Exceptional legal research and writing skills
Strong litigation and courtroom skills
Confident oral advocacy and communication abilities
Technological proficiency (e.g., Clio, Google Workspace, Westlaw/Lexis)
High emotional intelligence and client service orientation
Ability to manage and lead legal staff effectively
