Executive Director, Endowment & Major Gifts Strategy

Duties: Develop organizational strategy and goals for the acquisition of major assets, revenue producing planned giving resources and major gifts. Identify prospective donors and lay leaders and establish contact with them for the purpose of solicitation. Oversee acceptance of gifts of real property and work with donors to create such planned giving vehicles as Charitable Remainder Trusts, Charitable Lead Trusts, Virtual Endowments and Bequests. Work with IA fundraisers to integrate planned giving into their major gifts strategies. Participate in and oversee the development of marketing materials. Develop strategy for planned giving marketing campaigns and customized promotional materials, which will meet the needs of specific prospects and populations. Direct and provide guidance to fundraisers and lay leaders on guidelines for implementing planned giving strategies and advice on the creation of blended major gifts. Develop strategies for identifying and cultivating planned giving donors. Conduct one-on-one solicitations. Respond to questions from donors’ attorneys or accountants regarding technical issues. Review and approve the terms of proposed planned giving agreements to ensure that they comply with standards and are in best interests. Train fundraising staff and lay leadership on planned giving methodologies and case management. Serve as information resource by keeping abreast of current laws, statutes, planned giving materials, agency policies and other agency publications.
