Job Overview:
A prestigious law firm in Redding, CA, is seeking an experienced Employment Law Partner to join their expanding team. This role requires a seasoned attorney with a strong background in Employment Law, particularly with the Private Attorneys General Act (PAGA). The ideal candidate will have at least 8 years of expertise in litigation, client advisory, and PAGA class action defense.

Duties:

• PAGA Litigation:
  • Led and managed PAGA claims, including class action-style lawsuits.
  • Develop legal strategies for PAGA claims, balancing risk and cost considerations.
  • Oversee discovery, depositions, and trial preparation.
• Client Advisory & Compliance:
  • Advise clients on California labor laws, including wage and hour issues and PAGA risk mitigation.
  • Assist clients in drafting policies on employee classification, rest and meal breaks, and compliance with changing regulations.
  • Stay updated on the latest legislative changes and provide guidance accordingly.
• Client Relationship & Business Development:
  • Cultivate and expand relationships with existing and prospective clients.
  • Lead presentations and training sessions for clients on PAGA compliance and litigation.
  • Engage in networking activities to foster new business opportunities.
• Team Supervision & Mentorship:
  • Supervise and mentor junior attorneys and legal staff.
  • Ensure the quality and compliance of legal work produced by the team.
  • Promote professional development and keep the team informed on PAGA-related developments.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 8 years of experience in Employment Law with a focus on PAGA litigation.
• Proven track record in employment litigation, especially in class actions.
• Experience advising clients on labor law compliance, particularly in California.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to mentor junior attorneys.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• The high degree of professionalism and proactive case management.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
• Bachelor's degree in a related field.

Certifications:

• Member in good standing with the State Bar of California.

Skills:

• Expertise in employment law, specifically PAGA and class action litigation.
• Strong analytical, research, and negotiation skills.
• Exceptional ability to communicate complex legal issues.
• Business development and client relationship management skills.
