Billing Manager

The candidate will oversee the billing processes for CA offices. Help train staff and enforce policy. Help billing staff achieve billing budgets/goals. Balance need for procedures with flexibility to solve billing issues in new/efficient ways. Monitor staff’s workloads and proforma turnaround to insure billing is completed within 3 days of receiving proformas in department while maintaining accuracy. Conduct regular meetings with billing team to explain firm goals, initiatives and to discuss departmental metrics. Develop appropriate on-going training for team members. Work closely with E-billing Manager to insure all e-billing tasks are completed for region. Insure that detailed billing procedures are maintained for clients/matters billed in region. When requested, follow up on significant unbilled time positions for CRLs or ARBM’s in CA region to insure firm meets monthly billing goals. Supervise staff on team who work past 6 PM ET. Along with rotational biller, monitor billing requests to 8 PM ET and respond to/address any requests for billing assistance. Help with emergency AP check process past 5 PM ET. Work closely with cash application personnel at Global Solution - Pittsburgh in relation to trust transactions/procedures for CA region. Help Collections Department when needed. Run unallocated credit reports and work with partners and cash applications to clear up various credits. Assist with questions on e-billed status of invoices. Insure that financial aspects on matters for departed attorneys in CA region are dealt with in a timely and efficient manner. Work with partners to insure any requests for information is dealt with effectively. Assist Billing Operations Team with orientation of new partners and laterals in relation to accounting department functions. Assist Director of Revenue Operations with various projects to improve billing process. Attend and participate in various Administrative and Accounting meetings. Interact with appropriate human resource staff regarding areas of employee selection, assimilation, development, performance management and retention. Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Financial Management, or related discipline is required. Law Firm experience is required, large law firm experience is preferred, as well as experience with the Elite Legal Billing and Accounting System. Must have 5+ years of demonstrated supervisory experience, preferably in a billing management department, law firm or other service environment. Equivalent work experience is considered.
