Mid-Senior Level Patent Litigation Associate Attorney

Profile

A law firm seeks a Mid-Senior Level Patent Litigation Associate Attorney for its Albany office. The candidate will collaborate closely with clients, offering strategic guidance to navigate patent laws and precedents effectively. Responsibilities include drafting legal documents, engaging in negotiations, preparing for trials, and mentoring junior associates.

Duties:

• Draft pleadings, motions, memoranda, and correspondence for state and federal court, arbitration, and mediation proceedings.
• Handle complex discovery requests and responses.
• Conduct depositions and prepare witnesses for trial.
• Prepare exhibit lists, evidentiary objections, and motions in limine.
• Supervise and train junior associates.
• Prepare Federal Circuit appeal briefs.
• Communicate and negotiate with opposing counsel.

Requirements:

• 6-8 years of patent litigation experience.
• Strong understanding of drafting pleadings and responses.
• Experience with Markman and claim construction proceedings.
• Proficiency in patent-specific fact and expert discovery.
• Familiarity with inter partes reviews and overall litigation strategy.

Education and Certifications:

• Admission to the USPTO.
• Undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science preferred.
• Substantial experience in litigating matters in these or similar disciplines.
