A law firm seeks an experienced attorney to join its Healthcare and Insurance Division in Washington, D.C. This role offers a unique opportunity to shape a practice within a diverse range of transactional and regulatory areas, providing counsel to healthcare providers, health plans, and pharmaceutical and medical device companies.

Duties

• Advise covered entities and business associates on HIPAA privacy and security rules.
• Prepare privacy and security compliance programs and breach/data incident responses.
• Navigate state-level healthcare consumer privacy laws and their interaction with HIPAA.
• Counsel on the intersection of HIPAA with other privacy and security laws.
• Develop expertise in AI regulatory issues within healthcare entities.

Requirements

• At least seven years of relevant experience in healthcare data privacy.
• Active license in the applicable jurisdiction or ability to waive into practice.
• Excellent academic credentials and strong research, writing, and analytical skills.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Active bar membership in good standing.
