Job Overview
A well-regarded law firm is seeking an experienced Senior Discovery Attorney to join its team, offering 5 to 7 years of specialized knowledge in eDiscovery. This role will focus on advising and supporting case teams through all phases of discovery, from preservation to production. In addition, the Senior Discovery Attorney will assist with pre-litigation information governance, deposition and witness preparation, and trial support when necessary. The ideal candidate will collaborate with attorneys, technologists, and clients to develop and manage eDiscovery workflows and protocols that focus on risk mitigation, cost control, and defensibility. The role also involves overseeing the work of junior attorneys and service providers to ensure high-quality deliverables and consistent results.

Duties

  • Advise and support case teams and clients through all stages of the eDiscovery process, including preservation, processing, review, and production.
  • Provide guidance on pre-litigation information governance, deposition and witness preparation, and trial support when applicable.
  • Collaborate with attorneys, technologists, and clients to create and implement customized eDiscovery workflows and protocols.
  • Oversee and ensure the quality of work and deliverables from junior attorneys, project attorneys, and service providers.
  • Focus on risk mitigation, cost control, and defensibility throughout the discovery process while identifying key information needed for case success.

Requirements

  • 5 to 7 years of experience in eDiscovery and litigation support.
  • Must be licensed and in good standing in the state where the position is based.
  • Strong understanding of eDiscovery laws, regulations, and industry best practices.
  • Proven experience managing complex discovery workflows and providing strategic eDiscovery advice.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Preferred: eDiscovery certifications such as Relativity Certified Pro or Certified E-Discovery Specialist.

Skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex legal and technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace for corporate messaging, collaboration, and productivity solutions.
  • Expertise in Relativity (preferred).
  • Strong attention to detail, with a focus on quality assurance and risk management.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment.
