A well-regarded and rapidly growing law firm with offices in Maryland, Pennsylvania, and Virginia is seeking a Domestic/Civil Litigation Associate Attorney. This position offers hands-on courtroom experience, strategic mentorship, and strong professional development in family law and civil litigation. The successful candidate will engage directly with clients, represent them in legal proceedings, and participate in client intake and retention efforts. This role is ideal for attorneys who thrive in a dynamic, client-centered environment and seek fast-tracked career advancement, including partnership opportunities.
Bill approximately 34.6 hours per week (~1,800 billable hours/year)
Participate in client intake and business development (minimum 5 hours/week)
Maintain a client collection rate above 75% weekly
Work with internal financial team to forecast client billing
Provide courtroom representation and manage case strategy
Draft legal documents including custody agreements, prenuptials, divorces, and more
Mentor and train junior associates and legal support staff
Participate in the firm’s Perfect Client Lifecycle development program
Manage a calendar of court appearances and hearings
Provide internal legal counsel and statutory interpretation support to firm staff
Licensed to practice law in Maryland, Pennsylvania, or Virginia
Litigation experience in domestic and civil cases preferred
Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask
Proven client service skills and ability to foster long-term client relationships
Driven, entrepreneurial attitude with a desire for long-term career growth
Capacity to maintain performance in a high-paced environment
Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school
Active Bar admission in Maryland, Pennsylvania, or Virginia (additional states a plus)
Family law knowledge including divorce, custody, adoption, domestic violence, and financial settlements
Legal drafting in a variety of domestic law areas
Strong interpersonal and communication abilities
Ability to influence and negotiate effectively
Strong work ethic with a commitment to excellence
