Tax Senior Manager, Unclaimed Property Tax; State and Local Tax (SALT)
Duties: The candidate will be managing engagement profitability, billings to clients, and engagement team resources. Drafting and presenting business proposals to new and existing clients. Providing leadership, counseling, and career guidance for the development and motivation of the engagement team. Assessing client’s state and local tax burden and recommend solutions that support their overall business objectives to ensure that their filling positions are consistent with good business practices and with the states applicable tax laws and rules. Helping clients comply with complex laws and requirements related to uncashed payroll checks, aged accounts receivable credits, and other types of abandoned and unclaimed property. Assisting multi-state companies with state unclaimed property matters including audit defense, voluntary compliance, annual reporting, developing policies and procedures, and consulting. Reviewing unclaimed property compliance processes and making recommendations for improvement. Assisting Deloitte audit teams with review and analysis of unclaimed property reserves. Assisting multi-state companies with unclaimed property audits which includes preparing clients for discussions with auditors, review document requests, review audit assessments, and representing the client at meetings. Researching and drafting technical memoranda regarding the jurisdictions unclaimed property compliance rules. Supervising, mentoring, and developing staff.
