A law firm seeks a Litigation Associate Attorney in Davenport, Iowa. The successful candidate will represent businesses and governmental entities in federal and state courts, providing expert legal counsel and advocacy. This role involves conducting litigation, developing case strategies, and collaborating with senior attorneys and clients.

Duties

• Represent governmental entities in Civil Rights Litigation in federal and state courts.
• Defend insurance carriers and their insureds in insurance defense litigation.
• Conduct legal research and develop case strategies.
• Draft and file legal documents, argue motions, and manage depositions.
• Prepare for and assist in trial proceedings.
• Collaborate with senior attorneys and clients on litigation strategies.
• Maintain accurate case records and documentation.
• Engage in settlement negotiations when appropriate.
• Provide legal advice and guidance to clients.

Requirements

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an ABA-accredited law school.
• Active license to practice law in Illinois (Iowa preferred).
• 3-10 years of civil litigation experience in federal and/or state courts.
• Strong legal research and writing skills.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Self-starter with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Willingness to travel within Illinois and/or Iowa as required.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an ABA-accredited law school.

Certifications

• Active law license in Illinois (Iowa preferred).
