Attorney Iii

The candidate should have 3 years of experience as an attorney practicing law and providing legal services such as preparing and trying cases, advising clients, and/or interpreting laws or administrative policies. In accordance with Section 7-101, Nebraska Revised, Reissued Statutes of l943, must be admitted to the Nebraska Bar. Should preferably have 5 years' experience practicing law in the State of Nebraska; to include previous government and legislative experience and specific experience of a nature commensurate with the duties described above including contract, human resources and labor relations law. Must be licensed to practice law in Nebraska. Applicants accepting a job offer must pass the following pre-employment exams in this order: medical exam and, at a randomly announced time, a drug test. Should have excellent research skills; ability to issue verbal and written opinions to administrators and staff. Must have knowledge of state and federal statutes and case law, and constitutional provisions relating to correctional institutions and employment; knowledge of legal processes of the courts and legislature and administrative bodies in Nebraska; ability to compose correspondence and legal documents.
