Duties

• Represent municipal clients in civil litigation matters

• Draft and argue motions before courts

• Handle court appearances, hearings, and trials

• Conduct legal research and provide written analysis

• Manage depositions and discovery procedures

• Offer legal counsel related to municipal code enforcement and public nuisance issues

• Collaborate with agency officials and legal colleagues to craft long-term legal solutions

Requirements

• Experience with civil litigation, including motion practice, depositions, and trial preparation

• Familiarity with municipal law or code enforcement preferred

• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple legal matters simultaneously

• Interest in public service and legal issues impacting communities

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications

• Active Bar membership in the State of California
