A law firm seeks a Litigation Associate Attorney in Sacramento or Los Angeles, CA. The candidate will handle cases in all phases of litigation, including legal research, drafting pleadings, attending hearings, and assisting with trial preparation. This role offers the opportunity to work on complex litigation matters and develop strategic advocacy skills.

Duties

• Handle litigation matters through all phases, including pre-litigation strategy and trial preparation.
• Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and discovery requests and responses.
• Conduct and defend depositions, and prepare witnesses for hearings.
• Conduct legal research and provide strategic analysis on disputes.
• Appear at hearings, mediations, and arbitrations.
• Collaborate with partners and clients to develop litigation strategy.
• Prepare matters for mediation and trial, including coordinating key tasks.
• Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and courts to advance cases.

Requirements

• 4-7 years of complex commercial litigation experience.
• Experience drafting and arguing dispositive and non-dispositive motions.
• Experience taking and defending depositions and managing cases through discovery.
• Excellent legal research, writing, analytical, and oral advocacy skills.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a client-focused approach.
• Ability to independently manage multiple matters and deadlines.

Education

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Active membership in good standing with the California State Bar.
