Temporary Legal Aide II
The candidate will work within the Legal Division and assist the Hearing Officers with unemployment insurance appeals in addition to other legal duties assigned. Responsibility for the position will be to serve as a hearing officer for unemployment appeals. Position will be responsible for conducting telephonic unemployment appeals and issuing decisions. Based on workload, other responsibilities may include review and analysis of new legislation, brief writing, pleading drafting, and representing the agency in court proceedings (District Court, Nebraska Court of Appeals, Nebraska Supreme Court, and Bankruptcy Court). May also assist in contract drafting and responses to public record requests.
