Litigation Paralegal
The candidate will assist with document production including logging all documents produced and received and maintaining documents in binders or files. Coordinate fact investigation (i.e. locate and interview witnesses, site inspection, locate and preserve material evidence). Prepare and respond to document production demands and requests for admission. Assist with depositions including compiling and preparing exhibits in preparation for deposition; managing and maintaining depositions, including logging depositions (deponent, date, exhibits received, summaries, errata sheets) and maintaining depositions (including notebooks of mini-transcripts & summaries); and summarizing deposition transcripts. Assist with medical records including obtaining records, organizing medical records, compiling a notebook of records by the provider, numbering medical records, organizing and summarizing medical bills, and assembling notebooks for IME, or for expert review. Notebook preparation includes medical notebooks, transaction books, deposition preparation notebooks, Arbitration/hearing notebooks, and trial notebooks. Assist with exhibits to motions including compiling and preparing and designating deposition transcripts, as instructed. Assistance with trial preparation including compiling and preparing exhibits, assistance with demonstrative exhibits, deposition designation, and preparing and serving trial Subpoenas. Court runs, searching court files, and ordering audiotapes. Database work in e-discovery programs such as Relativity includes preparing or facilitating the preparation of database, loading deposition transcripts, and searching database or transcripts for words or phrases upon request. Assist with Alaska state corporate filings and proxy solicitations, including filings with the Division of Corporations and Banking and Securities. Should be able to turn work around quickly, possess strong oral and written communication skills, and be a self-starter who enjoys a fast-paced, team environment. Should have strong computer skills and a high level of organization and accuracy with attention to detail. A Bachelor’s degree and/or Paralegal certificate is preferred; 5+ years of litigation paralegal experience. Should have experience and familiarity with Federal and State court
